The Power to Return to Joy Has Been Within You All Along
The “Higher Self” is often defined as
a higher-dimensional version of yourself that resides deep within your consciousness.
You may have heard:
“By connecting with your Higher Self, you can access your subconscious and hear its guidance.”
But I believe this idea is based on a misunderstanding.
Because the truth is:
You already are your Higher Self.
The Higher Self Is Not Something to Become—It’s Your Default Setting
The Higher Self is not something to reach.
It’s not a state you have to work hard to connect with.
The Higher Self is your natural, default mode.
You don’t have to “connect” to it.
You just return to it—because it was always you.
The Universe Is Made of Layered Energy
The energy of the universe exists in infinite layers.
At the top layer is Love Energy—also known as Fulfillment Energy.
This is the energetic state of the Higher Self.
As resistance increases, your vibration drops layer by layer,
becoming sadness, anger, jealousy, and so on.
But these are not “bad” states.
They are simply different expressions of universal energy.
You Are Free to Choose Your Menu of Energy
The infinite layers of the universe can be seen as a vast menu of energy states.
There is no good or bad on the menu—just preferences.
And you, as a divine chooser and creator,
get to select your favorite energy and build your reality with it.
When You Feel Joy, You Are in Your Higher Self
When you’re feeling joy, abundance, and happiness—
that’s your Higher Self in action.
This is why “follow your excitement” is often recommended.
Because excitement is the emotion of your Higher Self.
And when you’re aligned with it, reality begins to shape itself around you—
effortlessly.
Why?
Because the Higher Self is Fulfillment Energy—
not something that “will be” fulfilled, but something that already is.
But Don’t Force the Excitement
If you try too hard to “get excited,”
you may actually generate resistance.
That resistance lowers your energetic layer,
and can slow down your manifestation process.
You Were Built to Return to Happiness Automatically
As human beings, we can’t stay in our Higher Self state 100% of the time.
We get angry, sad, jealous—and that’s perfectly okay.
Because our default setting is still the Higher Self.
We live in autopilot mode—
and even if we fall into emotional turbulence,
we are designed to return automatically to our original setting.
Think about this:
“Something bad happened, but I felt better after a good night’s sleep.”
That’s because during sleep, your heart gently resets itself to default—your Higher Self.
The Problem: Something Sometimes Takes the Controls
There’s only one problem:
Sometimes, something turns off your autopilot
and tries to grab the controls.
That “something” is what I call the false self—
or in Japanese, Giga(偽我).
It is your subconscious self, shaped by programming in childhood.
How the False Self Is Formed
When, as children, we are showered with negative words or rigid beliefs about “how we should be,”
those ideas get programmed into our subconscious.
Eventually, the mind forms a default based on:
- Self-doubt
- Harsh self-criticism
- Feeling unworthy
These thoughts become automatic,
and so does the reality that reflects them.
Examples of the False Self’s Voice
- “Things aren’t working out… maybe I’m just not good enough.”
- “I’m not attractive. I’m too old.”
- “I must lack discipline. Maybe the universe has abandoned me.”
All of these are lies from the false self.
But believing them makes them come true.
In extreme cases, this inner voice can even lead to despair and self-destruction.
To Shift Your Life, Break the Spiral
If you want to transform your life,
you must first break this negative spiral.
The method is simple—
because the universe is always simple.

- Recognize that you are your Higher Self.
- When negative thoughts arise, see them for what they are: voices of the false self.
- When emotions arise, don’t force them to change—just notice them.
- Gently say to the emotion:“Welcome. Thank you for showing up.”

“Welcome” Is a Word of Healing
By greeting your emotions instead of resisting them,
you activate your Higher Self’s loving awareness.

Gratitude Restores the Autopilot
There is no such thing as “normal” or “expected.”
Everything is a miracle:
- Your breathing
- Your beating heart
- The trillions of cells in your body working in harmony
- The food you eat
- The roof over your head
- The Earth itself
Every single thing exists because of countless invisible blessings.
Gratitude restores your autopilot—your natural alignment with the Higher Self.
And as that happens, the subconscious resistance begins to dissolve.
Even the False Self Is Worthy of Love
While this article compares the “true self” and the “false self,”
the false self is not your enemy.
It’s just a loyal system that carried out what it was taught.
And because of that,
changing your subconscious changes your reality.
You Don’t Need to Force Healing
There are many wonderful methods out there to “clear” or “purify” the subconscious.
But the Zero Resistance Method believes:
You don’t need to “detox” your emotions aggressively.

Because trying to “fix” something can create resistance.
